Around 6 years ago, in 2013 a tragic event hit Egypt due to a coup d'etat over a democratically elected president of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi.
In the year prior to that, the Arab Spring sparked a truly intense spirit of awakening in most Arab countries . Egypt was regarded as a successful revolution nation that eventually led to Mohamed Morsi to power, but that lasted for only one year.
The world may have forgotten the issue. It is remembered as a mere social justice issue, not realizing that the event has shaped a new discourse in the modern Arab society, at the same time transformed geopolitical scenario of that region.
3 months after the coup d'etat tragedy in August 2013, when Egypt was still in a state of emergency we travelled to the land. We have thought that was risky yet the best possible time for us to get on-the-field information.
By all possible means we made it to as far as getting to the red hot center of what's important in the Egyptian people's lives today. The people , and anyone who embark on seeking the truth about the Morsi story would have to encounter tough conditions and fear of uncertain situations. But those conditions and limitations have inspired us to value freedom and dignity. It's a worth sharing experience.
